Busy summer!

I am so very thankful that I decided we needed a long summer break. I don't know what I was thinking trying to schedule school around such a hectic summer!

Three out of four of us are dealing with injuries right now, so we are all undergoing varying degrees of recovery.

I'm in PT until July 23rd, and until that time I have been put on "light duty" with my knee. Meaning - no exercising until boss man says I'm healed enough to exercise.

I started whining about this (internally) because I *really* want to lose some weight. And then I thought, "You know, I've been this fat for a while now. One more month with a few extra pounds isn't going to set me back nearly as much as continuously aggravating my knee." So, I'm trying to focus on making good decisions food wise, and I'm doing my best to follow the exercises I'm to do at home. Even though my body is SCREAMING in retaliation. I am SORE today!

My daughter goes in to have a toenail permanently removed tomorrow, so she'll be sore for a while.

And hubby is scheduled for shoulder surgery in September! Until then, he's nursing a really painful shoulder.

Fun.Times.

Other than that, my church's children's ministry has been such a blessing. Our Children's Minister ROCKS! She has scheduled so many "day trips" for the kids this year. My son has been able to go on two great trips so far this summer, one to a hands-on science place, and another to a large drive-through animal ranch (the type where you can feed/pet the animals). Tomorrow, he gets to go spend a day at a lodge on the lake, and then next week starts VBS!

I'm so thankful for these activities because I'm unable to do much right now. I was afraid he was going to have a really boring summer for a while. Not anymore!

That's about it for now. I've been catching up on cleaning the house during my down time. I've started a Bible study on Proverbs 31 over at Doorposts. And today I think I'm going to go pick out some yarn for an afghan I will start making for this fall.

All in all, I'm trying to enjoy this down time, and it's lovely!
